Follow-up cost insurance

What happens if treatment becomes necessary after cosmetic surgery? Follow-up cost insurance can protect you from the costs.

Why cover can make sense

Even with careful planning and professional execution, complications after cosmetic surgery can never be completely ruled out, for example secondary bleeding, infections, thromboses, wound-healing problems or capsular contracture after breast surgery. Because aesthetic procedures are generally not medically necessary, statutory health insurers may reclaim the costs of follow-up treatment from patients in whole or in part under Section 52(2) SGB V. Follow-up cost insurance can cover these financial consequences.

Important to know

  • If possible, take out the insurance before the surgery date.
  • CZ-Wellmed is not an insurer. The contract is concluded directly with the provider.
